The company was located at Aachen-Nord Station at the time. It traded in scrap and old metal, machinery and parts, steam boilers, other appliances and semi-finished products, and carried out breakage of industrial plants. Forging and rolling work was performed on commission. The company also traded in waste paper, rags and scrap metal.<sup data-footnote-id=\"gdbui\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-3\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> Josef Holländer, Abraham's brother-in-law and husband of Lina Holländer, had a similar business, according to the same source.</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>In <strong>1897, </strong>the address book listed its business address as Jülicherstrasse, without number<em> (am Bahnhof</em>). This was also the case in <strong>1899</strong> and <strong>1900</strong>. From <strong>1901</strong> to <strong>1911</strong>, <em>Abraham Holländer, Comptoir und Lager, Jülicherstraße 18</em> was listed.<sup data-footnote-id=\"jxfau\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup></li>\r\n\t<li>In <strong>1917</strong>, the company advertised for foremen and mine superintendents in the <em>Kölner Zeitung </em>. These were to lead 'large columns of workers' who were to carry out extensive work in occupied northern France. The German War Ministry was the client and the columns consisted of prisoners of war.<sup data-footnote-id=\"uq522\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup></li>\r\n\t<li>In <strong>1924</strong>, in addition to the branch in Aachen, there were branches in Cologne and Hannover-Osterwald. There was also an advertisement in that year's address book, but compared to <strong>1914</strong> it was slightly smaller.<sup data-footnote-id=\"gblnn\"><a href=\"#footnote-4\" id=\"footnote-marker-4-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[4]</a></sup> In <strong>1929</strong>, the ad in the address book was even smaller than in the previous year.<sup data-footnote-id=\"lhb4q\"><a href=\"#footnote-5\" id=\"footnote-marker-5-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[5]</a></sup> And in <strong>1932</strong>, there was no ad at all.
