"description": "<p>According to Otto Frank, Fritz Pfeffer was the only one of the people in the Secret Annex who was truly religious. He had been raised Orthodox<sup data-footnote-id=\"nae64\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> and prayed every Friday.<sup data-footnote-id=\"ioqem\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> Fritz Pfeffer's son, Werner, described his father as very religious, but not orthodox. He did follow the Sabbath rules and had a mezuzah on the door. In her diary, Anne Frank makes no allusion to religiosity in Fritz Pfeffer.
