    "description": "<h1><strong>Music</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>As a child, Otto Frank played the cello. There is a photograph showing Otto Frank with a cello.<sup data-footnote-id=\"tkc9s\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> In a letter Otto Frank wrote to his mother Alice Frank-Stern<strong> (13 February 1905</strong>): <em>Vorhin habe ich Chellostunde gehabt und die Gavotte geht schon ganz gut</em>.<sup data-footnote-id=\"2txqi\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> On <strong>28 December 1904</strong>, Otto Frank played cello as a member of the Frankfurter Jugendorchest at a concert in the hall of the Dr Koch&#39;schen Conservatorium.<sup data-footnote-id=\"ezwwb\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup> Nothing is known about whether Otto Frank played&nbsp;cello in his later life. His niece Milly Stanfield later became a well-known cellist.<sup data-footnote-id=\"i4sob\"><a href=\"#footnote-4\" id=\"footnote-marker-4-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[4]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Collections</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank collected stamps and postcards. The Otto Frank Archive holds hundreds of loose, stamped stamps, postcards and envelopes.<sup data-footnote-id=\"f7bzm\"><a href=\"#footnote-5\" id=\"footnote-marker-5-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[5]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Photography</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank took photographs of his children both in Germany and in the Netherlands. The photo albums have been preserved.<sup data-footnote-id=\"3xq31\"><a href=\"#footnote-6\" id=\"footnote-marker-6-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[6]</a></sup> The photo albums are in the museum collection of the Anne Frank House, including the so-called <em>Blanco Electro Monster household book 1937</em>, which Anne Frank compiled while in hiding.<sup data-footnote-id=\"snol2\"><a href=\"#footnote-7\" id=\"footnote-marker-7-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[7]</a></sup> Other albums include the first photo album with photos taken between <strong>1929</strong> and <strong>1942</strong>,<sup data-footnote-id=\"m02s5\"><a href=\"#footnote-8\" id=\"footnote-marker-8-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[8]</a></sup> Margot Frank&#39;s first photo book and the photo album of children&#39;s photos of Margot and Anne Frank (from <strong>1928</strong> to <strong>1933</strong>).<sup data-footnote-id=\"3zc3b\"><a href=\"#footnote-9\" id=\"footnote-marker-9-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[9]</a></sup> Because photos were sent to relatives in Switzerland, individual photos have also been preserved.<sup data-footnote-id=\"3xq31\"><a href=\"#footnote-6\" id=\"footnote-marker-6-2\" rel=\"footnote\">[6]</a></sup> Otto Frank is also known to have taken advertising photos, such as the ones Otto took of Margot advertising the Nivea brand and hair water.<sup data-footnote-id=\"t155s\"><a href=\"#footnote-10\" id=\"footnote-marker-10-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[10]</a></sup> In the museum collection of the Anne Frank House is a camera owned by Otto Frank, of the Icarette brand. <sup data-footnote-id=\"iu49x\"><a href=\"#footnote-11\" id=\"footnote-marker-11-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[11]</a></sup> His Leica is owned by his stepdaughter Eva Schloss.<sup data-footnote-id=\"9yk6c\"><a href=\"#footnote-12\" id=\"footnote-marker-12-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[12]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Ice skating</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>It is said that Otto Frank could ice skate well. He himself did not comment on this, as far as is known.<sup data-footnote-id=\"b2gqj\"><a href=\"#footnote-13\" id=\"footnote-marker-13-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[13]</a></sup>&nbsp;In her letter of condolence to Fritzi, Beppie Sturm-Van den Bergh recalled memories of a holiday with the Franks in Switzerland and wrote: &#39;<em>I still have such good photos as a memory. Otto could ice skate so wonderfully</em>&#39;.<sup data-footnote-id=\"zwgwh\"><a href=\"#footnote-14\" id=\"footnote-marker-14-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[14]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Skiing</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank skied with Edith, his daughters, other family members and later with Fritzi. A photo is known of Otto Frank together with his brother Robert, daughter Margot, cousin Buddy and Mrs Schneider on skis.<sup data-footnote-id=\"gtv6j\"><a href=\"#footnote-15\" id=\"footnote-marker-15-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[15]</a></sup> There are also many winter sports photos in his photo albums.<sup data-footnote-id=\"0ywde\"><a href=\"#footnote-16\" id=\"footnote-marker-16-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[16]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Otto Frank&#39;s reading</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p><em>&#39;Auch ich fand nun Zeit zum lesen. There is a photograph showing Otto Frank with a cello.<sup data-footnote-id=\"tkc9s\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> In a letter Otto Frank wrote to his mother Alice Frank-Stern<strong> (13 February 1905</strong>): <em>Vorhin habe ich Chellostunde gehabt und die Gavotte geht schon ganz gut</em>.<sup data-footnote-id=\"2txqi\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> On <strong>28 December 1904</strong>, Otto Frank played cello as a member of the Frankfurter Jugendorchest at a concert in the hall of the Dr Koch&#39;schen Conservatorium.<sup data-footnote-id=\"ezwwb\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup> Nothing is known about whether Otto Frank played&nbsp;cello in his later life. His niece Milly Stanfield later became a well-known cellist.<sup data-footnote-id=\"i4sob\"><a href=\"#footnote-4\" id=\"footnote-marker-4-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[4]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Collections</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank collected stamps and postcards. The Otto Frank Archive holds hundreds of loose, stamped stamps, postcards and envelopes.<sup data-footnote-id=\"f7bzm\"><a href=\"#footnote-5\" id=\"footnote-marker-5-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[5]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Photography</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank took photographs of his children both in Germany and in the Netherlands. The photo albums have been preserved.<sup data-footnote-id=\"3xq31\"><a href=\"#footnote-6\" id=\"footnote-marker-6-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[6]</a></sup> The photo albums are in the museum collection of the Anne Frank House, including the so-called <em>Blanco Electro Monster household book 1937</em>, which Anne Frank compiled while in hiding.<sup data-footnote-id=\"snol2\"><a href=\"#footnote-7\" id=\"footnote-marker-7-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[7]</a></sup> Other albums include the first photo album with photos taken between <strong>1929</strong> and <strong>1942</strong>,<sup data-footnote-id=\"m02s5\"><a href=\"#footnote-8\" id=\"footnote-marker-8-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[8]</a></sup> Margot Frank&#39;s first photo book and the photo album of children&#39;s photos of Margot and Anne Frank (from <strong>1928</strong> to <strong>1933</strong>).<sup data-footnote-id=\"3zc3b\"><a href=\"#footnote-9\" id=\"footnote-marker-9-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[9]</a></sup> Because photos were sent to relatives in Switzerland, individual photos have also been preserved.<sup data-footnote-id=\"3xq31\"><a href=\"#footnote-6\" id=\"footnote-marker-6-2\" rel=\"footnote\">[6]</a></sup> Otto Frank is also known to have taken advertising photos, such as the ones Otto took of Margot advertising the Nivea brand and hair water.<sup data-footnote-id=\"t155s\"><a href=\"#footnote-10\" id=\"footnote-marker-10-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[10]</a></sup> In the museum collection of the Anne Frank House is a camera owned by Otto Frank, of the Icarette brand. <sup data-footnote-id=\"iu49x\"><a href=\"#footnote-11\" id=\"footnote-marker-11-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[11]</a></sup> His Leica is owned by his stepdaughter Eva Schloss.<sup data-footnote-id=\"9yk6c\"><a href=\"#footnote-12\" id=\"footnote-marker-12-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[12]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Ice skating</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>It is said that Otto Frank could ice skate well. He himself did not comment on this, as far as is known.<sup data-footnote-id=\"b2gqj\"><a href=\"#footnote-13\" id=\"footnote-marker-13-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[13]</a></sup>&nbsp;In her letter of condolence to Fritzi, Beppie Sturm-Van den Bergh recalled memories of a holiday with the Franks in Switzerland and wrote: &#39;<em>I still have such good photos as a memory. Otto could ice skate so wonderfully</em>&#39;.<sup data-footnote-id=\"zwgwh\"><a href=\"#footnote-14\" id=\"footnote-marker-14-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[14]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Skiing</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p>Otto Frank skied with Edith, his daughters, other family members and later with Fritzi. A photo is known of Otto Frank together with his brother Robert, daughter Margot, cousin Buddy and Mrs Schneider on skis.<sup data-footnote-id=\"gtv6j\"><a href=\"#footnote-15\" id=\"footnote-marker-15-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[15]</a></sup> There are also many winter sports photos in his photo albums.<sup data-footnote-id=\"0ywde\"><a href=\"#footnote-16\" id=\"footnote-marker-16-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[16]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<h1><strong>Otto Frank&#39;s reading</strong></h1>\r\n\r\n<p><em>&#39;Auch ich fand nun Zeit zum lesen.
