The Van Pels family moves to Biesboschstraat

Here Hermann van Pels was registered with his wife and son from 18 May 1938 to 6 May 1940.

The Van Pels family had several lodgers in the house on Biesboschstraat, and in a newspaper advert in March 1939, they offered a "Large Bedsitting room, ground floor, with fine lodgings for 2 pers."[1] The first to move in after the advert appeared were Auguste's parents, Leo Röttgen and Rosa Röttgen-Rosenau. The others who lived here, partly previously, were:

  • Georg Rosenstock and Clothilde Rosenstock-Schmidt (21 July 1938 - 30 January 1939)
  • Amalie Spanier-Marx (5 May 1939 - 10 July 1939)
  • Hans Bachmann (30 June 1939 - 3 October 1939)
  • Sigmund and Jakob Kaufmann (4 July 1939 - 6 May 1940).[2]
