The bridge over Bloemgracht Canal
Here, Jan Gies witnessed the arrest of the people in hiding in the Secret Annex.
At the request of the Theo Thijssen Museum, in 2023 bridge number 123 was named in after Kees de jongen (Young Kees), the main character in Theo Thijssen's novel of the same name. Anne Frank also had wanted to read Kees de jongen,[1] but it is unclear whether this happened. Not only does the story take place in the Jordaan, but Theo Thijssen's house can also be found nearby.[2] Today, from this bridge one has a view of the Anne Frank House located directly opposite the bridge and of the Westertoren and Westerkerk.
