Auschwitz-Birkenau camp - Infirmary huts
After arriving in Auschwitz, Anne Frank soon contracted scabies and ended up in an infirmary hut. Her sister Margot wanted to stay with her and went with her. She also developed scabies.
In late October 1944, Anne and Margot were deported to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Their mother Edith remained behind in Auschwitz, where she died of exhaustion and illness in January 1945.
