Persecution
Persecution is persecuting or being persecuted, impairment in freedom and person (deprivation of liberty, assault, humiliation, threat to life).
The German occupiers ruled with a hard hand. Anyone who resisted was arrested and locked up in prisons or camps. Certain groups were also systematically persecuted, such as the Sinti and Roma, Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews and communists.
