Auguste van Pels-Röttgen attended the Höhere Töchterschule, later the Viktoriaschule: a girls' high school in Essen.[1] Between 1914 and 1919 her family moved to Elberfeld, a suburb of Wuppertal. There she finished school in the nearby town Barmen. In 1921 she studied Nationalökonomie (macroeconomics) for a semester in Cologne. According to her sister Greta, she successfully completed that course, but according to Cologne university archives, she was deregistered after one semester.[2]
Auguste's school career is mentioned in documents from the Entschädigung proceedings brought by her sister Greta Goldschmidt-Röttgen for Berufsschaden for Auguste van Pels-Röttgen.[3]
