Johanna Maria Baldal
Johanna Maria Baldal was Anne Frank's kindergarten teacher at Preparatory School No. 51, the kindergarten section of the Sixth Montessori School.
Johanna Maria Baldal was Anne Frank's kindergarten teacher at Preparatory School No. 51, the kindergarten section of the Sixth Montessori School. There are three class photo's from 1934 and 1935 showing Baldal together with her pupils, including Anne.[1] Jan Wiegel based his film De Klas on one of these photo.[2]
On 1 April 1954 she was promoted to the position of Head of Preparatory Education. She retired on 16 January 1972.[3]
She lived with her mother until she died on 14 March 1970.[4] After that, she lived alone for the rest of her life.
