Irene Ceurvorst
Irene Ceurvorst was in the infants class of the Sixth Montessori School together with Anne.
Irene Ceurvorst was in the infants class of the Sixth Montessori School with Anne Frank. She can be seen in a class photo of the infants class, on which Jan Wiegel based his film De Klas (The Class). This photo is also in Anne's photo album Blanco Electro Huishoudboek (Blank Electro Household Book), which she compiled while in hiding. In it, Anne incorrectly refers to her as Irene Coster.[1] Class photos showed that Irene had a form of dwarfism.
Irene Ceurvorst first attended Preparatory School No. 51 from 11 June 1934 to 13 July 1935, and then transferred to the Sixth Montessori School.[2] On 27 January 1939, she was deregistered there in the context of a move to Bussum.[3] The family actually moved to Naarden.
She came from a family of car dealers. Her father was also a car dealer.[4] The Ceurvorst company supplied Chrysler Cabriolets, among other things.[5]
