Haakon VII of Norway

Haakon VII was King of Norway.

Haakon VII (1872-1957) was King of Norway.[1] He was the son of the Danish King Frederick VIII. When Norway left the personal union with Sweden in 1905 and became independent, Haakon VII ascended the throne. After the Germans occupied Norway in April 1940, the king refused to recognise Quisling's collaborationist government.[2] He fled to London and led the Norwegian government in exile.[3]
