Freetje de Leeuw
Freetje de Leeuw was in kindergarten and class 1B of the Sixth Montessori School together with Anne Frank.

Frederika (Freetje) de Leeuw was a daughter of Asser de Leeuw and Sara Hartog. Her father was a sales representative, her mother worked as a shop assistant.[1]
Freetje started at Prepatory School No. 51 in 1933.[2] She was in the sdame class with Anne Frank. In the 1935 presschool photo Anne listed het as number 9. She is the one just on the right of the girl with the white beau in her hair.[3] Like Anne, she went on to Sixth Montessori School in 1935, where they were in class 1B with Mr. Van Gelder. Of the two girls way in the back of the 1936 class photo, she is the one on the right with the beau.[4] When she left Sixth Montessori School, she was supposed to go to the Spinoza School.[5]
Freetjes father was rounded up during a major razzia in Rivierenbuurt op 2 and 3 October 1942 and deported to Westerbork.[6] Her mother worked for the department of Bread Provisions of the Jewish Counci at Nieuwe Herengracht 23 in Amsterdam.[7] For this she was granted a Sperre: a temporary reprieve of deporation. On 20 June 1943, she and Freetje were also arrested.[8] The family were reunietd In Westerbork. On 31 August 1943 they werd deported to Auschwitz, where Freetje was murdered immediately upon arrival.[9] It is unknown when her parents perished. Asser died sometime between September 1943 and May 1944.[10]
