Applam Fruit Products Company was gevestigd in Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset, UK.[1] De firma maakte deel uit van het Pomosin-concern. Het bedrijf stond onder controle van Otto Frank en de Nederlandsche Opekta Mij.[2] De firmanten van Applam besloten op 17 maart 1934 tot opheffing.[3] Een doorstart mislukte omdat de eigenaar van de gebouwen en de machines een te lange pachttermijn wilde sluiten.[4] Op 4 november 1935 werd Thomas Kefford aangewezen als liquidator.[5]
Otto Frank had in 1937 veel afspraken met Kefford. Op 2 december 1937 reisde hij naar Bristol en Taunton, waar de fabriek van Applam gevestigd was.[6] Op 10 maart 1954 was er een vergadering waarin verantwoording over de liquidatie werd gegeven. Onder de aankondiging stond Keffords naam.[7]
