"content": "<p>Bertha Louise (Betty) Bloemendal was a classmate of Anne Frank at the Jewish Lyceum.<sup data-footnote-id=\"fd3bh\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> Betty was picked up from home in <strong>July '42</strong> with her brother and mother. Her father was allowed to stay thanks to a doctor's certificate stating that he had TB. He would die of the disease in <strong>early '44</strong> at a hiding place.
