    "content": "<p>Pieter van Borssum Waalkes was a confectioner and sugar worker. He set up the company Noblesse with Otto Frank and Jo Kleiman.<sup data-footnote-id=\"05fr9\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> The company, which started on <strong>1 September 1950</strong>, wanted to make cream truffles with a longer shelf-life using preservatives such as alum. The experiment failed.<sup data-footnote-id=\"5xvbl\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> The partnership was dissolved on <strong>15 June 1951</strong>, after which Van Borssum Waalkes continued with Noblesse at his own risk. He took ownership of the stock and raw materials on condition that he took on the receivables, worth fifty-three hundred guilders, as a debt.<sup data-footnote-id=\"7sub6\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Later, Van Borssum Waalkes was involved in the development of Supec, a pectine preparation developed and sold by Opekta for large-scale sugar-work production.
