    "content": "<p>Fritz Martin Werthauer lived in Rotterdam for a few months from the <strong>summer of 1919</strong>, where he traded in machines. Towards the end of the year he left for Danzig (now Gdansk in Poland). In June 1920 he married in Berlin, and the couple&#39;s children were born in Frankfurt am Main in <strong>1922</strong> and <strong>1925</strong>.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>In <strong>July 1933</strong>, Werthauer initially left without his family for Amsterdam, where he moved into a room for a few months. Reunited with his wife, son and daughter, Werthauer lived from November 1933 onwards in the Rivierenbuurt (River District), a few hundred metres away from the Frank family. In <strong>February 1934</strong>, the daughters of both families attended a party, in fancy dress. There, a photo was taken of them with Barbara Ledermann and two unknown children. After about two years, the Werthauer family moved to Stadionweg.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>In <strong>mid-April 1941</strong>, a few weeks before it closed for good, the American consulate in Rotterdam issued the family with emigration visas. On <strong>22 May 1941</strong> they left Bilbao on board the <em>Marquẽs de Comillas</em>&nbsp;for New York.
