"content": "<p>Willy Philip Pos was Anne Frank's Dutch language teacher at the Jewish Lyceum.<sup data-footnote-id=\"a7lvi\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Pos wrote various plays, one of which was performed in <strong>1939</strong>. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy in Amsterdam on <strong>12 December 1940</strong>, and was qualified to teach Dutch language and literature as well as history. On <strong>8 October 1941 </strong>he got a temporary appointment as a Dutch language teacher at the Jewish Lyceum.<sup data-footnote-id=\"a33e1\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> While there, he organised several theatrical performances. He survived the war by going into hiding in <strong>1943</strong>.<sup data-footnote-id=\"os87j\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>After the war he taught Dutch at two secondary schools in Amsterdam: the Barlaeus and the Vossius.<sup data-footnote-id=\"a33e1\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-2\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> In <strong>1947</strong> he became Director of the Academy for Dramatic Art (Toneelschool Amsterdam), and he remained in that post until <strong>1966</strong>.
