    "content": "<p>Herman Koopman was a classmate of Anne Frank at the Jewish Lyceum<strong>.</strong><sup data-footnote-id=\"irrrf\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup>&nbsp;Through family contacts, his parents brought him and his brother Johan to different hiding addresses. Johan was arrested after being betrayed,&nbsp;and he was killed in Auschwitz in <strong>February 1944</strong>. Herman had problems at two addresses with the people who were hiding him, but eventually ended up at a farm outside Amsterdam. There he stayed relatively comfortably until the liberation. His parents survived too.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>He completed the HBS in a shortened course and studied economics in Amsterdam. Later, his work as an accountant took him to Cura&ccedil;ao and Colombia. After that, he lived in The Hague. Herman Koopman was married twice. He had two sons and an adopted daughter.     "content_nl": "<p>Herman Koopman was een klasgenoot van Anne Frank op het <strong>Joods Lyceum.</strong><sup data-footnote-id=\"irrrf\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup>&nbsp;Zijn ouders brachten hem en zijn broer Johan via familiecontacten op verschillende onderduikadressen onder.
