    "content": "<p>Sally (Salo, Sol) Kimel&nbsp;was a classmate of Anne Frank at the Sixth Montessori School.<sup data-footnote-id=\"qryna\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> He was the son of Eva Goldberg&nbsp;(1893) and a cousin of Appie Reiner, also a classmate of Anne.&nbsp;<sup data-footnote-id=\"c6imj\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> On 18 October 1941 he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at the synagogue in Lekstraat.<sup data-footnote-id=\"nd3s8\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>He had to suddenly go into hiding when his mother was arrested in the street, an event that also put him in danger. <sup data-footnote-id=\"xxllu\"><a href=\"#footnote-4\" id=\"footnote-marker-4-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[4]</a></sup> It is not known when and where this took place. Sally was sheltered by a sister of Johannes Post, who lived in the neighbourhood of Hoogeveen. After a year, when she could no longer keep him, he went to a nearby family member, where his uncle, aunt and two cousins had been staying for some time. On <strong>7 February 1945</strong> they were accidently discovered by members of the <em>Landwacht</em> passing by. They were subsequently arrested. Toen deze hem na een jaar niet meer kon houden, ging&nbsp;hij naar een adres in de buurt waar zijn familie al een hele tijd verbleef. Op&nbsp;<strong>7 februari 1945</strong>&nbsp;werden ze door toevallig passerende Landwachters ontdekt en gearresteerd.
