Little is known about Hermann van Pels' education. According to a statement by Hermann van Pels' sister Ida, he attended the Jüdische Vorschule and an unspecified Bürgerschule (Mittelschule?), both in Osnabrück. He later took a three-year apprenticeship at the company S. Alsberg & Co.[1]
