Names of Johannes Kleiman
Variations of Johannes Kleiman's name.
Kleiman's full name was Johannes Kleiman.[1] His name was often shortened to Jo.[2] He himself also signed his correspondence to friends and acquaintances with Jo.[2]
His family, consisting of wife Johanna (Joke), daughter Johanna (Jopie) and Johannes himself, was also known as: Jo, Jo and Jo.[3]
When Anne Frank wrote the second version (the B version) of her diary, she wrote a list of the names she wanted to give the people in a book to be published later. She gave Johannes Kleiman the name Simon Koophuis.[4] In the first edition of the diary (1947), this became Mr Koophuis.[5]
