Gerda Moes
Gerda Moes was a classmate of Anne Frank at the Sixth Montessori School.

Wilhelmina Gerharda (Gerda) Moes was a daughter of Ernst August Moes and Maria Christina van den Nieuwenhuizen.[1] Her father was an attorney at law, as well as a singer and lyricist of Amsterdam songs. He was known by the stage name Moestafa.[2]
On 17 August 1932, Gerda was registered at Prepatory School No. 51.[3] In school years 1935-'36 until 1940-'41, she was in the same class with Anne at the Sixth Montessori School. In the 1936 class photo, she is one of the girls sitting on the floor, left in front. She tilts her head and is wearing a white blouse and a black tie. Anne listed her as number 1.[4] In the 1938 photo, she is standing to the right of the centre, in front of the door.[5] After completing Sixth Montessori School, she went on to the Montessori Lyceum.[6]
In 1953, Gerda married Gijsbert (Guy) Cnoop Koopmans (1927-1922),[7] a brother of magistrate and Labour-polician Abraham Jakob (Clovis) Cnoop Koopmans.[8] They emigrated to Canada, where they lived in Toronto. Gerda passed away in 1977, 48 years old.[9]
