On <strong>16 June 1938</strong>, he and his wife received a certificate of good conduct in connection with emigration to North America,<sup data-footnote-id=\"9fn7b\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup>&nbsp;and on <strong>27 August</strong> they left on board the S.S. &#39;Samaria&#39; from Liverpool.
