Return
'Return' in this context refers to the unregulated return of persons to the Netherlands after the liberation, following a stay (forced or otherwise) abroad during World War II.
After 9 May 1945, about 5,500 Jews returned from German concentration camps. About 16,000 Jews emerged from hiding and another 15,000 Jews returned who had otherwise escaped persecution or fled abroad.
