    "content": "<p>Trude Leeser was a daughter of Clara van Pels and a niece of Hermann van Pels. Her parents Clara van Pels and Herbert Leeser lived in Elberfeld at the time of her birth. Their marriage ended in <strong>1933</strong>. Trude and her mother moved to Osnabr&uuml;ck,<sup data-footnote-id=\"4b8ik\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> where many members of the Van Pels family lived.&nbsp;In Osnabr&uuml;ck she attended the Israelite Elementary School. A photo from <strong>1934 </strong>shows her in the class of teacher Abraham Trepp. A somewhat later photo shows her with Trepp and a group of other children, including her cousin Peter van Pels, outdoors.<sup data-footnote-id=\"qr18h\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>In <strong>September 1938 </strong>they left Osnabr&uuml;ck for Bloemendaal, and in <strong>May 1940 </strong>they moved to Amsterdam, where Trude and her mother lived with her grandfather and aunt Henny.<sup data-footnote-id=\"yj2x5\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup>Her mother remarried in Amsterdam and was killed with her husband in Sobibor.<sup data-footnote-id=\"sz567\"><a href=\"#footnote-4\" id=\"footnote-marker-4-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[4]</a></sup>&nbsp;Trude survived several (possibly nine) camps.<sup data-footnote-id=\"tl64v\"><a href=\"#footnote-5\" id=\"footnote-marker-5-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[5]</a></sup> She went to Brazil after the liberation.
