            "content": "<p>Theodor Metz and his family were part of the Frederiks plan in <strong>1942</strong>, an initiative to place groups under special protection of the Ministry of the Interior.<sup data-footnote-id=\"mjrs1\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup>&nbsp;Metz and his family were on Professor Jan van Dam&#39;s list. &nbsp;<sup data-footnote-id=\"j0nwc\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup>Theodor Metz was also a German veteran of the First World War. As a result, they were safeguarded as much as possible from deportation to concentration camps.
