Two days after Kristallnacht, Walter Holländer and his brother Julius were arrested by the Nazis. While Julius was soon released, Walter was sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp.

Trude Leeser was niece of Hermann van Pels and was imprisoned in Vught from early 1943.

Henny van Pels imprisoned in Vught concentration camp

Vught Feb. 24, 1943 - Sept. 11, 1943

Henny van Pels was a sister of Hermann van Pels. In Vught, she worked as a furrier. On 11 September 1943, she was transferred to camp Westerbork. From there, she was deported to Auschwitz concentration camp on 14 September 1943, where she was killed shortly after arrival.

Familie Metz interned in Barneveld

Lunteren Feb. 27, 1943 - Sept. 29, 1943

Theodor Metz and his family were able to avoid deportation to concentration camps for a long time thanks to the Frederiks plan. To avoid arrest, they stayed in a Jewish Home in Barneveld - presumably "De Biezen" - from 27 February to 29 September 1943.

Clara van Pels imprisoned in Camp Westerbork

Zwiggelte April 17, 1943

Clara van Pels is a younger sister of Hermann van Pels. On 17 April 1943, she and her husband Günther Neumann were arrested and taken to Westerbork. There, on 26 April, they were deported to Sobibor extermination camp, where they were murdered, presumably on 29 April 1944.

On 20 June 1943, the Ledermann family was arrested in their home during a large raid in Amsterdam-Zuid. Their daughter Barbara went into hiding. They were deported to Auschwitz on 16 November 1943.

Family Goslar imprisoned in Camp Westerbork

Zwiggelte June 20, 1943

On 20 June 1944, the Goslar family was rounded up during a large raid in Amsterdam-Zuid and taken to Camp Westerbork. Hans Goslar had an 'Albersheim declaration', which allowed him to be exchanged by the British for captured Germans. To be available for this, he and two daughters were deported to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp on 15 February 1944.

Gretha Goldschmidt was a sister of Auguste van Pels-Röttgen. She was imprisoned in penal hut 67 in Camp Westerbork on 6 August 1943.

Victor Kugler escapes during an air raid

Zevenaar March 24, 1945

In late March 1945, Victor Kugler was sent to Germany on foot with about 600 fellow prisoners. Near Zevenaar, the column came under fire from British aircraft. Kugler took advantage of the confusion and escaped. After a few days, he arrived home in Hilversum.
