"content": "<p>The firm Schellekens' Borduur- en Plisseerateliers (Schellekens' Embroidery and Pleating Workshops) was located at 5-9 Nieuwe Herengracht from <strong>1915</strong> to <strong>1938</strong>.<sup data-footnote-id=\"7dyue\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup> Miep Gies worked there for four-and-a-half years after leaving a MULO school, according to her foster parents.<sup data-footnote-id=\"dofd8\"><a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-marker-2-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[2]</a></sup> She was listed in the staff address book with the address Gaaspstraat 12.<sup data-footnote-id=\"7dyue\"><a href=\"#footnote-1\" id=\"footnote-marker-1-2\" rel=\"footnote\">[1]</a></sup></p>\r\n\r\n<p>According to the Register of Foreign Nationals, she worked in the office at Schellekens for NLG 67.50 a month from <strong>1 September 1927 to 1 December 1932</strong>.<sup data-footnote-id=\"ucr7r\"><a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-marker-3-1\" rel=\"footnote\">[3]</a></sup> She worked there as a typist.
